My Story

I grew up in a logging town where my dad owned a gas station and my mom taught school. I was lucky to grow up learning the small town values of family, faith, and public service. I chose to become a doctor simply because I wanted to help people. My husband Troy and I moved here after my medical training and 5 years of pediatric practice so that I could practice and teach at UAB School of Medicine. We raised our 3 children here in Shelby County and have lived here for nearly 33 years.

I’m running for office because I want to continue to help people. When taxpayers have a problem, they should feel free to call their county commissioner, regardless of partisan politics, for help with a solution. That idea—that your commissioner works for you—has been lost in today’s politics. I want to bring it back.

If you’d like to volunteer for my campaign, I’d love to have you!
